Summary

A ditch, aligned NNW-SSE was seen , the base of which was excavated to a depth of c.1.4m and filled by a mid to dark brown clay loam. No datable evidence was recovered from either the ditch or the spoil.

Conditional planning consent for an extension to Redcot, Church Street, Wetherden, required a programme of archaeological monitoring of excavated footings. A ditch, aligned NNW-SSE was seen , the base of which was excavated to a depth of c.1.4m and filled by a mid to dark brown clay loam. No datable evidence was recovered from either the ditch or the spoil. S1
