Full Description

Saxo-Norman (Romanesque) origins and fabric to the parish church of St Peter now redundant.
Although church mentioned in Domesday Book, nothing recorded (by RDC and team 1975) can be dated that early. However, a later Romanesque church can be almost completely reconstructed... three cells: an apsidel chancel, a central tower with windows... a nave with opposed N and S doorways and 2 windows on each wall... maybe built in two phases.
