Full Description
Faint circular cropmark approximately 30m in diameter noted on 1946 RAF AP's. Area then heathland, now Kings Forest Plantation (S1). Group of 3 round barrows located 800m to NNE - WRW 001, 008, 009.
April 2008: visited and found to be upstanding round barrow earthwork circa 50 cm high. Formerly recorded as ring ditch (Pendleton C & Armour-Chelu N, FC).
September 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
A round barrow and part of the surrounding ditch are seen as earthworks on aerial photographs and visualised lidar data (S2-S3). The feature consists of an earthwork mound with a section of earthwork ditch on the mounds south side seen on the visualised lidar data. The complete ditch surrounding the barrow is seen as cropmark on the 1940s aerial photographs. The barrow is not seen on the Frist Edition Ordnance Survey Map (S4) and is approximately 900m to the south west of a group of barrows (WRW 001,WRW 008,WRW 009, WRW 047). The monument polygon has been amended to correlate with the location of the features from the lidar data.
