Full Description
Watermill on River Stour, famed for connections to and paintings by John Constable.
Shown on Hodskinson map of 1783 (S1).
1960: with mill house makes an extremely beautiful group of buildings but has been gutted and is used for field studies (S2).
1965: waterwheel and 3 pairs of stones. Known to have been owned by Constable family in 1770 (S3).
Other sources and history not researched. Construction date unknown.
