Full Description
20 August 2006: metal detecting rally site, East Coast Searchers - 2 fields (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s). Finds said to include "hammered silver, a bronze stater and a gold ring and lots of recent material near (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s). More on W than on E field". No finds seen, most detectorists having left, due to heavy rain, by time of visit (by JP; S1).
Rally report: field centred (see 'Not to publish' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) 11 flint flakes; 1x poss. Roman greyware pottery sherd; 1x gilt C17 belt mount. Field centred (see 'Not to publish' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) 1 coin, Elizabethan half-groat, CIVITAS LONDON, 1602-1602?; 1x gilt C14-15 annular buckle. (S2)
