Full Description

2005: Excavation and monitoring work in advance of the construction of a new Consolidated Communications Building at RAF Lakenheath recorded a spread of soil containing a Mesolithic blade, which may represent the remnants of a Mesolithic archaeological horizon which has been largely lost through truncation and erosion. At the east end of the site a orange-brown sand layer was recorded at the base of the stratigraphic sequence (S1).

Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2005 (S2).
