Full Description

Two spigot mortar impacements, to defend the river crossing at TM 08843 55377 & TM 08856 55291 (S1).
Monitoring of groundworks only revealed 1.6m of made-ground (S2).
Present condition unknown, one, possibly both, destroyed as part of development (S3).
Site visit in July 2012 confirmed that both spigot mortar emplacements had been destroyed (S4).

Spigot mortar site detailed in the Needham Market defence scheme of the 7th Battlion Suffolk Home Guard. 5/2/19 Site visit by PSG member Gary Binden shows this site to be extant but a little way from it's originally plotted location (S5).
