Full Description

An evaluation was undertaken on the site of a proposed all-weather gallop covering an area of approximately 45 hectares. A series of archaeological trenches totalling just under 1400m in length was excavated across the development site. Limited archaeological evidence was recovered from the evaluation with three late prehistoric pits identified near the northern limit of the site indicating dispersed activity from that period. An unstratified Roman copper alloy disc brooch was recovered during the excavation of the all-weather gallop (S1).
