Full Description
Moat, occupied, site of Glevering Hall, isolated, close to River Deben and parish boundary, complex, sub-rectangular and square (S1) with adjoining ditches enclosing orchard etc?.
Glevering Hall on Hodskinson's 1783 map (range of three separate building blocks shown); Glevering Old Hall on OS 1837 map; Glevering Hall Farm on OS 1880s map. A new Glevering Hall and park were constructed in the 1790s to the NW (see HCH 014 & 015).
This moat marked [incorrectly] on OS 1:10560 map at TM 299 576.
Lost from HER mapping with digitisation - remapped January 2009.
Not known whether Medieval or later elements of the Hall survive within present buildings but they are not Listed.
