Medieval town of Mildenhall, defined from historic maps and locations of listed buildings.
1219/20, grant of a market to be held on Friday. 1673, said to be 'plentiful' and 'well frequented'. 1792, market held on Wednesday. 1921, Friday market revived (S1, S2).
