Medieval town of Laxfield, defined from historic maps and locations of listed buildings.
1427, grant of a weekly market and 2 fairs to Sir John Wingfield (S1).
After Hodskinson's map of 1783 (S2).

1999: Hammered silver penny, obverse completely worn away. Longcross stirling penny, quatrefoil in centre of cross, inscription clipped away. Pre 1480, details in (S3).
