Full Description
Pottery sherds date C12 - C13. In trench on E side of road from Red House to Friday Street, opposite Canada Hall, seen by SEW of Ipswich Museum. A depression into the sand at least 8 feet across with layers of black and red and a band of stiff clay at the bottom. Compact layer of oysters and some pottery. Depth of deposit 2 feet. Site on edge of cultivated field.
