Full Description
Watermill and mill house on River Box. Still worked by water power [in 1960], this mill has been rented and worked by three generations of Munsons. The structure is weatherboarded timber, painted white and has a tiled roof. The very pleasant red brick mill house is separate. The internal breast shot wheel drives 3 pairs of stones and an oat crusher (S1)(S2).
Both Listed Buildings, mill said to be 18th century and mill house mid 19th century.
Note: also 'Old Windmill' shown on OS 1880s map (gone by 1900s) nearby at TM 0114 3565.
