Type and Period (4)
Post-medieval activity was represented principally by pits and ditches. The larger pits date to the 19th century and were thought to represent documented quarrying operations. The rubble fill of these features suggest that even at this time site clearance was occurring with the pits providing disposal areas for friary demolition material. In addition, the cuts of the Norris excavations carried out during the 1930’s were also identified.
