Full Description

Medieval pottery Sherds of a green glazed jug, strap decoration. Found in sewer trench near Methodist Chapel (S1).

Archaeological monitoring for the erection of a conservatory to the rear of the Methodist Church Hall identified no archaeological features. A number of unstratified finds were recovered from the topsoil including animal none, rooftile, floor tile, brick, glass, clay pipes, pottery, nails and a copper alloy thimble. The majority were post medieval in date except for two sherds of medieval coarseare and one medieval green glazed ware sherd (S2).
