Full Description
300m E of Brandon High Street, between Gashouse Drove and the Brandon - Thetford road, some 50m N of the Drove. Probable pillbox, of which no trace remains. Site now occupied by a private house (S1).
Mapped at approximate location.
February 2017. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
No convincing sign of this pillbox could be identified on the aerial photographs at this location, although it is possible that it is camouflaged in some manner. A type 22 pillbox and a possible square gun emplacement or similar structures were recorded approximately 300m to the east (BRD 279) and may represent the same site.
S. Horlock (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 13th February 2017.
