Full Description
Violet Hill Brewery recorded in Stowmarket between at least 1850 (when owned by Jacob Green, sold to Hansard Jackson Bridges in 1865) (S2)(S3) till 1896. Renamed the Suffolk Brewery in 1904, had ceased trading by 1911 with the premises subsequently used as a laundry.
Mapped as brewery and malthouse in 1886 and 1904 (OS).
May 2012: premises still standing but in a state of dereliction. For brewery history see (S3).
Development proposals refused 2011 & 2012.
Present condition unknown.
