Full Description
All Saints Church. Status: rectory. Building consists of: nave, chancel, N aisle, W tower (built circa 1450).
Domesday Book 1086 - Land of Robert Malet's Mother Held of the Queen's Fee: 'Holeslea ... a church with 14 acres'(R1).
Given by Robert Malet to Eye Priory, circa 1086-1102, 'ecclesiam de Helegleya', gift confirmed 1138 'ecclesiam de Holesle' (R2). Photograph of West tower and description is to be found in Basil Brown archive (S1).
