Full Description

Civil Defence Pillar. The structure is constructed of brick and concrete and retains its original wooden doors. It is understood that telecommunications equipment would have been fitted inside. The pillar was used as a back-up air-raid siren system which could be operated in the event that the Civil Defence Centre had been disabled (S1).
