Monument record STT 010 - Henge and associated barrow cemetery south of Home Whin Farm

Ring ditch, circa 35m diameter, within scheduled barrow cemetery (& henge?) N of Shottisham (see STT 004-009)(S2)(S3).
1973: Ploughed fields. No surface finds (S1).
1981: Ploughed (S1).
1985: All of E area now in cultivation. When visited it was under stubble and had recently been subsoiled. Thin scatter of struck flint over most of surface. Some rabbit holes. Natural dip in W-centre corresponds to gap between 3 northern and 3 southern ring ditches (S1).
January 1998: Scheduled area revised - details in (S1). NGR amended after (S2)(S3).

September 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme.
The ring ditch described above is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S4)-(S13).
A Bronze Age date has tentatively been suggested in the light of its apparent relationship with the barrow cemetery recorded as SHER STT 064. The available photographs were difficult to rectify hence the location of the features should be treated with a hint of caution.
