Summary

John Wymer reports that two Late Acheulian hand-axes were found here but Basil Brown quite definitely states that they were found at Barnham Number 1 pit (TL88408000) as it was being closed down.

Full Description

John Wymer reports that two Late Acheulian hand-axes were found at this site but Basil Brown quite definitely states that they were found at Barnham Number 1 pit as it was being closed down. He gives sketches of the hand-axes and a section drawing of the site of the larger axe (S1,S2). This find is recorded under Barnham 002.
