Full Description

Former watermill visible on the 1st edition OS map c.1880 (S1). Cranley windmill was built in 1853, it was a large post mill with a two-storey roundhouse that was moved from Castle Hill, Eye. In 1845. It was demolished in 1917 but the roundhouse remains as a store. There were four double-shuttered patent sails, a fourtail and the two pairs of stones in the head (S2).
