Full Description

Archaeologial monitoring revealed the presence of three features and a buried soil. Two ofthe features appeared to be pits whilst a third may have been a ditch. None of these contained datable finds but the nature of the finds, oyster shell and animal bone, may be indicative of Roman occupation. The buried soil also contained oyster shell-and animal bone but in addition a single sherd ofRoman pottery was found. The buried soil overlayed all the features and may have filled one of the pits (S1).

Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2001 (S2)
