Full Description
Possible road metalling circa 0.3m thick; septaria, broken tile and oyster shell. Found 3-4 feet below surface in sewer trench.
Basil Brown was advised that an 80 yards length of Rom road had been revealed in 1935 along Cliff Road, between Church Road and St George's Road. His informant was R Meehan, Surveyor, Felixstowe, who appears to have been in charge of the Cliff Road development (S1).
Said to be lime, roofing tile, septaria & potsherds in (S2). ? Med - See FEX 013.
