Full Description

Large post mill with two-storey roundhouse. The sails were removed in 1909 and the mill was demolished during the Great War. The derelict walls of the roundhouse were still standing in 1991 with a later power mill building attached but the site has since been developed. There were four patent sails, two pais of stones (head and tail), and a fantail (S1). Called Davey's Mill the earliest cartographic evidence for it is 1837 (S2). Visible on the 1st edition OS map (S3).
