Full Description

19th and 20th century pits identified during monitoring at Town Farmhouse. Pits could be related to former Pest House or Isolation Hospital that existed on the site in the 19th century. No evidence was revealed for the burial of individuals who were sent to the Pest House as an isolation measure. Documentary evidence suggests that fatalities may have been buried in a plot c. 400m to the south east (S1)
