Full Description
2014: Archaeological evaluation trenching revealed a north-south ditch, a possible post hole and a post hole. The features were interpreted as being associated with the extant boundary between the development plot and the churchyard of St Margaret’s church, adjacent to the west. The ditch is likely to be a precursor to the hedgerow that currently defines the boundary, and can therefore be understood as having once defined the east extent of the hedgerow. The material evidence suggests that the features may be Medieval in date (S1).
