"A considerable quantity of brass axes were found by labourers removing an old bank NW of Beaconhill Farm, Little Bealings, in 1829. The site is now covered by the railway" - W Palmer, Rector, Little Bealings Rectory (S1). "Celts found 1829", OS 1:10560 1902.
