April 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme.
Earthworks of probable woodland management features and a possible medieval to post medieval hollow way are visible on aerial photographs (S1)-(S3) in Oak Wood (CSA 022), Capel St Andrew. There are a number of other earthwork features which appear to be depicted on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map (S4) and have therefore not been mapped, but it is possible that the linear bank features which are still extant in 2011 (S3) represent a medieval to post medieval hollow way. A possible former mound could be visible associated with the possible Roman saltern (CSA 026) in the north east of the woodland and has been mentioned in the record for the possible saltern.
