Full Description

Scatter of MSax and LSax metalwork, mainly concentrated in 100m area centred on grid reference, found metal detecting. Caterpillar brooch, several decorated hooked tags, facetted pin head, silver sceatta (Porcupine series) (S1). Animal head strap end, cut half pennies of Cnut and Aetherlred II, Ipswich ware pottery sherd with ring stamp (S2).
Fragment of strap end with ring and dot decoration, disc brooch with excised pattern and disc brooch with relief interlace. Silver penny of Eadwald, King of East Anglia circa AD 800, moneyer Witred, found at (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s)(W of main area of finds) (S2). Pottery sherds including Thetford type ware (some of it Ipswich products) and one of St Neots ware (S1).
