Full Description
Section of the Felixstowe Branch Line that was built as part of the construction Felixstowe Station in 1898 (See FEX 210). The original route diverted towards the River Orwell (See SUF 072).
From NRHE record:
The Great Eastern Railway purchased the Felixstowe Dock and Railway Company in in 1887 (Linear 1110) and on July 1st 1898 opened an extension line to a central site in the growing town. Two new stations, Beach and Pier were opened and access to them from the new Town Station required reversal at Town Station. The original section from Trimley to what was then Beach Station was closed.
