Full Description
2017: Excavation revealed prehistoric remains spanning the Late Neolithic to the Early Iron Age in date. Two Late Neolithic pits containing Grooved Ware assemblages and three Late Neolithic-Early Bronze Age pits containg Beaker pottery were identified. The majority of the activity on the site dates to the Early Iron Age which includes a large number of pits and five post-built structures. The pits contained a typical assemblage of domsetic waste indicative of occupation. (S2) Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2017 (S1).
