Full Description
The excavation and subsequent analysis of Site 34 has provided new evidence of Roman land division, probably relating to an extensive cropmark complex to the east of the site. In addition, further ditches represent an unphased – but possibly Bronze Age – phase of land division as well as a medieval–postmedieval boundary. The cropmark of a ring-ditch fell largely outside the excavation area to the southwest; the excavation of the very eastern edge of the ring-ditch yielded no dating evidence (S1).
