Full Description

Old ruins of a building which must have been of considerable extent being used as foundation of later structures. Probably 12th or 13th Century and discovered about 1805. Ecclesiastical, probably a priory or convent of which all trace has been lost. The walls were of rubble and flint. Corner of Tavern street and dial lane, (S1).
