Silver maidenhead spoon c. 1600 Length overall: 6 3/16", length of bowl: 2 3/8" max, width of bowl: 1 3/4". Stamped with five-petalled floret, and engraved with initials IA. Excavated on the site of Messrs Frederic Corder, Buttermarket, Ipswich, 1938, when they were erecting a new building. Found 8ft down.
