Full Description
July 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
Possible First World War practice trenches are seen as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S2). The possible practice trenches can be seen as faint cropmarks in the 1940s and most likely relate to the Frist World War Elveden Explosive area tank training ground (IKL 362 and WSW 101). The practice trenches are similar to further practice trenches near North Stow Farm (WSW 148) and on Berners Heath (IKL 352) to the west. An extent of area has been used to map the features as the trenches show very faintly on the aerial photographs making it difficult to map in detail.
