Full Description

August 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
A group of small undated mounds can be seen as earthworks on aerial photographs and visualised lidar data (S1-S2). The five features consist of a roughly circular mound surrounded by ditch and measuring approximately ten meters in diameter. The function and date of these features are unknown; however it is possible that these features may relate to small Bronze Age barrows, 20th century pre Frist World War military training features or a product of modern forestry. The features are also in close proximity to a large undated oval mound (IKL 367) to the south west and a findspot (IKL 279) consisting of a Bronze Age arrow head to the north. The features are currently under an area of woodland and can be seen as low earthworks on the visualised lidar data.
