Full Description
August 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
An area of small irregular pits, possibly dating to the post medieval period, are seen as earthworks on aerial photographs and visualised lidar data (S1-S2). The pits most likely relate to an area of probable post medieval extraction and the features are not seen on the Frist Edition Ordnance Survey map (S3). The pits can be seen clearly in the 1940s and are presently under an area of forestry but can be seen as earthworks on the visualised lidar data. Further work such as field visits should be undertaken to further interpret this feature.
