Full Description

Possible indication of an ancient earthwork in the field name 'Grimsditch' (1843 Tithe Map), recorded in medieval times as 'in campo qui vocatur Grimisdich' (temp Henry III ; Harleian MS 52A49) (S1). Names of this type frequently indicate archaeological sites (S2). Site appears to lie to the S of Howe Lane.
According to Scarfe (S3) follows line of sunken lane S of Thornham Parva churchyard and continues E across Rom road. For continuation see Braiseworth 003.
