Full Description
Moat. Rectangular, isolated, unoccupied (S1). Wet moat in a valley, surrounded by a wet drainage ditch/watercourse on N, W & S sides. Interior has been planted with trees - Canada poplars and conifers (failed)(S2). Situated in NW corner of Rishangles Park (see THD 019). This could be the fishpond of about half an acre, in the park `near to the gate towards Thorndon' for which Edward Grimston received a licence in 1479 (S3).
