Full Description
October 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
Possible medieval-post medieval banks and ditches are seen as soilmarks on aerial photographs (S1). The features consist of three fragmented roughly parallel banks and ditches and a small north west - south east aligned bank. These features most likely relate to Medieval – post medieval field boundaries; however these features could be earlier in date as the banks and ditches are in close proximity to multiperiod settlement remains to the south east (WSW 207) as well as Roman features to the west (IKL 167). The section of bank located at TL 7918 7178 may have possibly survived as a low earthwork under vegetation in the 1940s but has since been levelled. The features are also in close proximity to possible geological soilmarks.
