Full Description

Creeting St Mary church (rectory) and site of Benedictine Priory founded pre 1156 as a cell of St Mary of Bernay in Normandy. From 1327 this small alien cell shared a prior with another cell at Everdon in Northamptonshire. Dissolved pre 1414. Possessions granted to Eton College, 1462 (S1)(S2). Present church has a Norman S doorway, W tower and N aisle of 1884-1887 (S3).
