Please read our .

Summary

Extending from TL 76307132 to 77437214 is a linear feature which appears as a single ditch with banks on either side, at TL 76687164. This feature intersects Black Ditches (TL 76 NE 4) at TL 76757169. There is no surface evidence of this feature although it is visible as a vague soil-mark on OS AP 76/060/212. Apparently the earthwork ran from the River Lark in the northeast, across flat, open country to heathland in the southwest. It was probably an early track-way from a crossing of river to distant pasture, and not connected with the Black Ditches.
