Full Description
A route running north from the proven North Gate of Colchester Roman town suggested by modern road alignments up to Great Horkesley. Conjectural from this point. A section of modern road and aligned parish boundary at Sudbury may form part of a continuation. The OS suggest an alternative route following the direct alignment of the Colchester to Great Horkesley route. [See OS Linear Archive for bibliography 1863-1973, and reports of field investigation 1979].
