Full Description

Findspot of a Roman coin hoard, uncovered by metal detectors 1991-4 in a field in Burgate. It consisted of 167 siliquae and one half siliquae of Constantius II to Honorius, AD 337-402 and one solidus of Eugenius, AD 392-4. Three silver rings and silver spoons were also part of the hoard. The hoard may have been deposited c.AD 410 (S1).
