ENGLISH SCHOONER, 1852
Status: Casualty
Described in two different accounts as having driven ashore `1 mile S of the Martello tower' and `2 miles below Orford Low Light', in wind conditions S force 6 and squally. (3)
`Aldboro', 27th Jan:...The FRIENDSBURY, of Shields, Smith, from Inverkeithing to London, stranded about 2 miles bleow the Orford Low Light this morning; crew saved.' (1)
Source (1) gives the port of registration as Shields, (3) as North Shields, and (2) as Leith.
