Full Description

1825 wreck of English cargo vessel which stranded on Orford Beach during a gale. En route from North Shields to London, she was a wooden sailing craft.
Status: Casualty

`Orford, 9th Nov. The TRAVELLER, of and from No. Shields to London, was driven on shore on this beach last night, during a heavy gale at SSW, and is a total wreck. The master, carpenter, and two of the crew saved, eight drowned.' (1)
