Full Description

1824 wreck of English craft which foundered in Hollesley Bay after grounding on the Knowl and thereby springing a leak; a wooden sailing vessel.
Status: Casualty

`Aldbro'. 6th Jan. The ZUMA of Sunderland, Allan, struck upon the Knowl near Orfordness yesterday morning, and made so much water before she reached the Main, that she sunk a few yards from the beach in Hollesley Bay. The crew and materials saved; but it is feared the ship will be wrecked.' (1)
