ENGLISH BRIG, 1854
Status: Casualty

`Vessel lost by stress of weather in wind conditions NE force 9, hazy. Crew saved by the JOHN & MARY, a pilot cutter belonging to Aldborough.' (1)

`Harwich, 23rd April - The ANNAN SAILOR (brig), Brown, of and from South Shields for London with coals, struck upon the Whitney Sand this morning and has become a wreck; crew saved.' (2)

`Harwich, 24th April - The ANN & SARAH (brig), Brown, of Newcastle, from Shields to London with coals, was wrecked on the Whiting Sand yesterday morning; crew saved. [Mem.- The above vessel was erroneously reported yesterday as the ANNAN SAILOR]' (3)
