1788 wreck of English cargo vessel which was wrecked near Orford Haven en route from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to London with coal; a wooden sailing vessel.
Status: Casualty

`Newcastle, March 29, 1788...the PERSEVERANCE...upon Orford beach...The THETIS, and THREE SISTERS, belonging to Whitby, both laden with coals from this port to London, are said to be wrecked near the above place.' (1)
